SGT Michael Bryan Doheny

30 – Broken Bow, NE

KIA – December 9, 2007

SGT Michael Bryan Doheny joined the Marine Corp in 1997 as an Infantryman. After completing his first 4-year enlistment, he re-enlisted for an additional 4 years in Security Forces serving in Kings Bay, GA, a Nuclear Submarine Base. He was serving there during the attacks of September 11th, 2001. Mike wished to be with his Infantry unit from his first enlistment in the War on Terror missions that followed, but his current assignment of guarding the nuclear base would keep him stateside. This is when a Marine colleague told him of an opportunity to serve with a security contractor that was employed by the United States Government to protect dignitaries and the Army Corps of Engineers. Mike chose to pursue this opportunity to continue his service to his country.  After being discharged from the Marines in 2005, Mike joined Tetra Tech EC as a Security Specialist.  Mike went on to serve 3 tours in Iraq with this company, working as part of a munitions clearance program disposing of captured munitions and supporting the Army Corps of Engineers. During this third tour in Iraq, Mike and two comrades were killed when their vehicle was struck by an IED.
