Captain Robert Yllescas was an Army Ranger. He was in his third tour, two in Iraq followed by a tour in Afghanistan. A bridge was detonated as he was crossing it on Oct 28, 2008. He lost both legs and had many injuries. He died from his injuries on Dec. 1, 2008. Robert was born in and raised in Guatemala. He attended the University of Nebraska and graduated with a bachelor’s of science degree in agronomy. Robert loved the Big Red Huskers!
